展览前言
作为一个频频亮相于中国主流媒体却备受争议的艺术家，舒勇与大部分艺术家不同在于，他坚持将当代艺术积极地干预到中国的当下社会。在他和Z/F、企业、媒体的博弈过程中，通过艺术不断制造的事端向我们展示着当代艺术新的方向和可能，也在争议中有效地改变着中国Z/F、大众对当代艺术的误解和偏见。中国的现实社会就是舒勇的艺术实验场所。舒勇注定是一位被艺术史抛弃或是改写艺术史的艺术家。
Shu Yong’s uniqueness lies in that he always applies contemporary arts to social life and uses arts to create and change the way we live. He makes art getting involved in mainstream society and becoming accessible to everybody’s daily life. He works closely with government, businesses as well as media with an aim of demonstrating new direction and all sort of possibilities of modern arts. Such approaches change to views and misunderstandings of government and the public on contemporary arts. He carries out exploratory initiatives with strong determination and commitment while facing the risks of being isolated and misunderstood. Therefore, Shu Yong is destined to become an artist who can break the boundary and shine in the history of arts.
